Home Funeral Specialists
At Barefoot Funerals we feel the best way to describe our vision of a Home Funeral is where we support you to keep the body of your loved one at home for a few hours, overnight, or longer This means that one of our goals is to guide you and help you feel the comfort and security needed to accomplish this. We can advise and help with washing and dressing, choosing eco friendly products and leaving a light footprint on the earth.
This precious time of holding vigil with your departed loved one can be a cathartic experience. A time for family and friends to comfort and support one another, sharing memories and stories or just saying a final good bye.
Of course this is not always possible, we can still help you come to the right decision for you and your family, wherever your loved one is.
We are available by phone 24 hours a day
Midwifing death is all about companioning the person who is dying. We listen to the fears and concerns of the family, and help advocate for the rights and legitimate choices of those who are dying.
Looking after a loved one at home can be a very beautiful option. We work with your palliative care team or other people you have chosen to be involved.
We are happy to help you plan advance care directives at no charge. These help in the planning of end of life choices and make it easier for family to understand your wishes.
We can organise your own personalised coffin, which is wrapped in an eco solvent or water based ink with pvc free film. These coffins are generally MDF coffins. A couple of days notice is generally needed. I took this photo at our beloved Never Never Creek close to dawn and of course you can use this photo as well.
We have thoroughly researched eco friendly coffins and can provide a suitable range of products. Your choices range from cardboard, plantation pine, eco burial pods and the popular imported willow/wicker products. All of these coffins are teamed with eco friendly components ensuring that the final footprint is as light as can be and are approved for use in Australia.
We also have access to traditional coffins as well.
