Arranging a funeral can be a daunting prospect.  We do our best to make the process as simple as possible.  The journey of grieving can be an overwhelming experience and trying to make arrangements for someone you love, in the midst of it all can seem too much to bear.

Time, Presence and Continuity of Care.  We offer our community both guidance and practical funeral services in a continuum of end-of-life-care.  Our work can begin as a Doula to the dying and travels all the way through to the funeral.

Home Funeral Specialists
Even Though we do traditional cremations and burials, we at Barefoot Funerals, feel the best way to describe our vision of a Home Funeral is where we support you to make whatever choices are right for you.  Whether you keep the body of your loved one at home for a few hours, overnight, or longer or not at all.  You can have the service at your own home or even outdoors.  This means that one of our goals is to guide you and help you feel the comfort and security needed to accomplish this.  We help you make meaning.  We can advise and help with washing and dressing, choosing eco friendly products and leaving a light footprint on the earth.
This precious time of  holding vigil with your departed loved one can be a healing experience. A time for family and friends to comfort and support one another, sharing memories and stories or just saying a final good bye.  We return to the old wisdom traditions, where our ancestors accompanied their dying to the threshold.
Of course this is not always possible, we can still help you come to the right decision for you and your family, wherever your loved one is.  Our Funeral Directors and staff have deep empathy and compassion and listen to what the family wishes.

Midwifing death is all about companioning the person who is dying.  We listen to the fears and concerns of the family, and help advocate for the rights and legitimate choices of those who are dying.

Looking after a loved one at home  can be a very beautiful option.  We work with your palliative care team or other people you have chosen to be involved.
